Lypovets Y. Legal values as ideals and compromises

The thesis deals with the research of legal values from a philosophical and legal position. The ideological tendencies that have determined the emergence, formation and functioning of legal values, as well as their role in modern society are described. It has been emphasized that modern trends in the development of the world community and the Ukrainian one in particular are characterized by serious changes in all spheres of public life, including legal. These changes are determined by the dominant value and worldview structure of a particular society, and in the context of globalization and standardization, the most general value and worldview guidelines for modern mankind are traced. The thesis analyses the main axiological concepts related to the subject of the thesis, and the conceptual foundations of legal axiology as an organic component of modern philosophical and legal knowledge. The author paid considerable attention to the axiological research of the 20th century, when legal axiology was formed. It has been found that the current state of legal values research has a multifaceted nature and is carried out within the philosophical, legal, and sectoral sciences.
