The scientific work is devoted to the study of the impact of the international recommendations "Surviving Sepsis Campaign: International guidelines for management of severe sepsis and septic shock: 2016" with additional neuroprotection with gliatilin or glutoxime on the course of the septic process, the severity of encephalopathy and reducing the risk of developing postseptic syndrome; assessment of the severity and prognosis of sepsis and septic shock by using the Sepsis Severity Score (SSS) scale. A comparative analysis of the rate and degree of regression of clinical and biochemical manifestations of sepsis-associated encephalopathy as a component of multiple organ failure syndrome, restoration of cognitive functions and quality of life, depending on the neuroprotective therapy option, was carried out. The severity and prognosis of sepsis and septic shock were assessed using the SSS scale. It was found that sepsis-associated encephalopathy can act as an independent predictor of mortality in sepsis and septic shock, the degree of its severity corresponds to the severity of the septic process.
