Theoretical and applied issues of the admissibility of evidence in criminal proceedings have been studied in the dissertation; problematic aspects related to the subject of the research have been identified, on the basis of which science-based proposals for improving the criminal procedure legislation and the practice of its application were developed. The state of scientific research on the problem of admissibility as a criterion for evaluating evidence in criminal proceedings has been identified; the historical aspects and modern understanding of the legal nature of the admissibility of evidence in criminal proceedings have been characterized.
