The thesis paper deals with the definition of the nature and features of the legal regulation of compulsory payments, related to the receipt of inheritance and gifts. This thesis paper shows theoretical generalization and new scientific task solution, which is to define the nature and features of legal regulation of compulsory payments, related to the receipt of inheritance and gifts, based on the review of native scholarly views and current legislation, and to develop proposals and recommendations, aimed to improve the relevant regulatory and legal support. A historical and legal analysis of the development of payments, related to the receipt of inheritance and gifts, in the pre-revolutionary period has been made. The genesis of payments, related to the receipt of inheritance and gifts, in the Soviet period has been defined. The current state of legal regulation of compulsory payments, related to the receipt of inheritance and gifts, in Ukraine has been assessed.
