The dissertation is devoted to the definition of administrative and legal bases of activity of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a subject of the security and defense sector, as well as to the formulation of perspective directions of improvement of the administrative legislation in this part. The essence of state border protection as a component of the security and defense sector and the object of administrative and legal regulation is clarified. The place of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in the system of security and defense sector entities is outlined. The tasks and principles of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a subject of the security and defense sector have been determined. The state and prospects of development of normative-legal bases of activity of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a subject of the security and defense sector are outlined. The content, concept and structure of the administrative and legal status of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a subject of the security and defense sector are clarified. The main directions of security and defense sector support by bodies and subdivisions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are formulated. The legal nature of the administrative and legal instruments of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a subject of the security and defense sector has been clarified. The concept, outline the types and determine the forms of interaction of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a subject of the security and defense sector is revealed.
