The thesis analyzes the main problematic issues related to the study of the suspect’s personality by the investigator and the definition of this activity as an element of specific forensic methodology. The first part is devoted to the complex research of the theoretical basis of the study of the suspect’s personality in the forensic methodology. It analyzes the research status of the problem to study the suspect's personality and its causation to the tasks of criminal proceedings. The content of criminal and legal, criminological, criminal and procedural and forensic aspects of the study of the suspect’s personality in criminal proceedings is determined.
