Syvodied I. Investigation of premeditated murders of servicemen committed in the context of hostilities

In the dissertation on the basis of research of a complex of the questions arising during the investigation of premeditated murders of servicemen committed in the context of hostilities, the scientific positions are formulated and the results directed on the decision of an important scientific problem in the forensic methods are given, practical recommendations for collecting evidence in criminal proceedings in this category of cases are determined. The dissertation is the first comprehensive study of theoretical and practical problems of forensic characteristics and investigation of premeditated murders of servicemen committed in the context of hostilities, taking into account the current state of criminal procedure legislation and law enforcement. The analysis of the state of investigation of premeditated murders of servicemen committed in the context of hostilities outlines the following characteristics: a stable negative tendency to commit premeditated murders of servicemen in the context of hostilities in the temporarily occupied territories (Donetsk and Luhansk regions), concerning the hostilities in Joint Forces Operations; preservation of a significant amount of mercenary and violent crime; group context are the murders committed on an organized and professional basis, which are related to killings with the use of firearms and explosive devices; and the murders committed by foreign military personnel who have professional combat skills (snipers, mercenaries) etc.
