The dissertation is devoted to the development of theoretical principles and
practical recommendations for the formation of competitive advantages of higher
education institutions.
The approach to the presentation of higher education as an open system that
operates in the market of educational services and is a producer of educational
products – educational program, which, unlike others, is determined by a set of
structural elements, business processes, marketing environment, allows to use
marketing tools to form competitive advantages of higher education institutions in the
market of educational services. The meaning of the concept of «competitive
advantages of higher education institutions» is defined, which in contrast to the
existing definitions is considered as the ability of higher education institutions on the
basis of effective use (combinations) of all available resources and competencies to
create consumer value (educational product), stakeholders in the market of educational
services. An approach to the formation of competitive advantages of higher education
institutions based on the definition and consideration of the interests of external
stakeholders (state, society, business community, external partners) and internal
stakeholders (higher education applicant , staff of higher education institutions
(administrative and academic staff)), which creates the basis for the formation of
strategic directions of higher education. The set of quantitative and qualitative
indicators of the higher education institution's activity for assessing its
competitiveness has been improved, which provides an opportunity to determine the
competitive advantages of the higher education institution. The approach to estimating
the resource potential of a higher education institution on the basis of determining the
integrated indicator by the characteristics of elements (personnel, material,
organizational, informational, financial) is substantiated, and the regression equation is
constructed by the method of planning the first order experiment competitive
advantages of higher education institutions for a certain period of time. The concept of
the educational program is developed, which is considered as a business model and
allows to form a product portfolio of higher education institutions, which is the basis
for the formation of competitive advantages of higher education institutions. The
analysis of identification of competitive advantages of higher education institutions is
carried out, based on the survey of respondents – direct and potential consumers of
educational programs, which allowed to determine the main directions of formation of
competitive advantages of higher education institutions.
