Thesis provides a theoretical generalization and a new solution to the scientific problem, which consists in determining on the basis of analysis and research of legislative and doctrinal sources, administrative and legal regulation of the formation and operation of banking institutions. A study was conducted on the genesis of legal doctrine on administrative and legal regulation of the formation, reorganization and liquidation of banking institutions in modern Ukraine since the emergence of banking institutions up to the present day, the general patterns of their development were outlined.
