Essay

The relevance of the study is due to the high practical value and insufficient elaboration of the problem of application of fractal methods of image coding in information technology and computer graphics. Particular attention is paid to the mathematical model, the Iterated Function System (IFS), which is used in fractal image compression. A brief analysis of options for improving the speed of construction of systems of iterative functions of fractal image coding, their efficiency and feasibility of practical application. Theoretical aspects of increasing the efficiency of image compression by the fractal method are considered. Options for significantly increasing the rate of fractal compression are offered. The main efforts were focused on the study, analysis and further development of approaches used for image compression and to reduce the amount of redundant data. A variant of the modified method is proposed, which will significantly increase the speed of fractal coding. Describes the sequence of steps required to decode the image. To test the method, its software implementation was developed and its effectiveness on standard images was experimentally proved.
