Boichuk M. Functional and semantic field of religious lexis in English (multi-paradigmal research).

The thesis is devoted to multi-paradigmal investigation of functional and semantic field of religious lexis in British and American English. The research contains the analysis of modern approaches to religious lexical study, the topicality of the multi-paradigmal approach was motivated, its method and procedure as well, the terms methodology, technique, method, procedure of linguistic analysis were specified. The conceptual and semantic, lexico-grammatical, structural, partly psycholinguistic and linguo-cultural peculiarities of the researched material were investigated, the semantic changes, the semantic processes as well as word-fomation specifics that occur in the religious vocabulary of the English language (in its British and American versions) were considered. The analyzed lexical units and word combinations were classified according to 16 criteria and unified as a holistic typology of nominations on religious topics.
