The object of research – development of the agri-food market in the context of increasing integration into the European and global economic space; goal – development of theoretical and methodological principles of customs regulation in the national economy governance system, as well as the development of practical recommendations for the formation of effective customs policies for the national agri-food market in the context of strengthening integration processes; methods – scientific abstractions, analogies and collation, comparison and graphical construction, as well as methods descriptive and comparative statistics; comparative methods, analysis, synthesis and generalisation; systemic method; economic and mathematic modelling; results – improved conceptual principles of customs regulation, clarified and defined customs regulation instruments in the context of the new developments in global and national economies, and international trade relations, summarily resulting in the development of proposals on improving the regulation of the agri-food market, aimed at protecting national interests, ensuring resilience of the internal agri-food market against the negative conjunctures at external markets, as well as improving the structure of the national food export; novelty – improved applied scientific approaches to the policies development for the regulation of economy by customs methods and instruments, chosen based on the monitoring and accounting for the tendencies and changes in the rule of the international trade, and aligned to the protection of national interests, including the resistance to external shocks at separate markets; further development of scientific approaches to the customs regulation systems of separate agri-food markets in the context of the international agreements of Ukraine; generalised novel conceptual and practical approaches to the development of customs regulation systems of the countries participant to the different integrational entities, which allowed to find facilitating factors and threats to the Ukrainian agri-food products when entering the foreign markets; improved the methodical range of instruments for the determination of priority product groups, markets and lines of customs regulation of their development; degree of implementation – the research results have been implemented by governmental bodies, business support institutions and in the educational process of a higher education establishment; scope (area) of use – agrarian, trade and customs policies, governance and development planning of the national economy, particularly its agrarian sector, as well as educational process in the higher education establishments of Ukraine.
