Essay

The evolution of the project of the Kazakh political nation after the collapse of the Soviet Union, which aimed to regulate the ethno-demographic balance and consolidate different ethnic groups around a single state ideology, is studied. It is noted that the process of nation-building in the Republic of Kazakhstan is characterized primarily by the desire of public authorities to direct the development of ethno-national identity of Kazakhstanis in the direction of its homogenization.
