Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the scientific and theoretical substantiation of the theoretical, methodical and applied aspects of the formation of the food supply system according to the model of sustainable development of the agrarian sector of the economy. Sustainable food and agriculture have great potential to revitalize the rural landscape, ensure inclusive growth in countries and promote positive change within the framework of the 2030 Agenda. It is argued that, in general, the activities of FAO in the implementation of the SDG2 can be systematized in three areas: monitoring the implementation of the SDG2 and measuring progress; global processes; global partners. Such distribution is determined by the specifics of goals and tasks for a specific field of activity and level. It has been proven that FAO has significant potential comparative advantages in providing assistance to countries in meeting new challenges in the field of SDG2 monitoring, in particular through the implementation of projects: Global Strategy for the Improvement of Agricultural Statistics (GSIAS); Food Insecurity Self-Assessment Survey Module (FIES-SM); Global Survey Center (GSH).
