In the work the peculiarities of legal regulation of employment relations in Ukraine and the European Union are clarified. The history of legal regulation of employment in Ukraine is analyzed, the main theoretical approaches to the study of the phenomenon of employment are determined and the legislation regulating the procedure of employment is studied. The world standards of legal regulation of employment are investigated and the problems of legal regulation of employment in the world are highlighted. The forms of employment in the EU and the procedure of employment in the EU are characterized. The basic principles of legal regulation of employment of special categories of workers are analyzed. The peculiarities of legal regulation of employment of minors are developed, the peculiarities of legal regulation of employment of young specialists are established and the peculiarities of legal regulation of employment of young people in European countries are investigated. The legal regulation of employment of persons with reduced working capacity in Ukraine and the legal regulation of employment of persons with reduced working capacity in the EU countries are investigated. The legal regulation of employment of women, the procedure and peculiarities of employment of persons with family responsibilities, as well as the legal regulation of employment of women and persons with family responsibilities in the EU countries are analyzed. The legal support of employment in Ukraine and in the world is investigated.
