Shal V. Social guarantees of prosecutors in Ukraine

The dissertation provides a general description of the social guarantees of prosecutors, defines their system, outlines the problems of legal regulation of social guarantees of prosecutors, and identifies ways of its improvement. The categorical and conceptual apparatus related to the researched issues was revealed and improved: "social guarantees of prosecutors", "social assistance to prosecutors and members of their families", "housing provision", "pension provision", etc. The social guarantees of prosecutors are proposed to be understood as a system of methods, means and conditions defined by current legislation, the purpose of which is to protect prosecutors from social risks, ensure social protection of prosecutors in the process of performing their professional functions, as well as outside the boundaries of their workplace, which consists in satisfying the prosecutor of his basic social rights and is expressed in the provision of certain benefits, assistance, various types of material, social and pension security. Also, social assistance to prosecutors and members of their families is defined as a targeted periodical or one-time payment (cash or material support) guaranteed by the state for the relevant budgetary purposes, which is provided to prosecutors or members of their families on a gratuitous alimony basis in cases defined by legislation, which are inherently appropriate life circumstances that determine the occurrence of negative consequences in the form of the impossibility of providing oneself and one’s family members with the minimum level of benefits necessary for life.
