The dissertation is a complex analytical and synthetic study of the poetic,
literary, epistolary heritage of M. Dry-Khmara. The paper provides a systematic
analysis of the artist's work through the assessment of his author's voice, which
provides a description of the life and work of the writer in general in connection with
the literary process of the 20s – 30s of the twentieth century.
The peculiarities of the formation of the author's voice in the discourse of the
day, national and artistic worldview parameters are traced. It is noted that the author's
voice in the poetic discourse reflects the position of the Ukrainian intellectual, a man
of tragic times, with high moral and aesthetic criteria. M. Dry-Khmara's artistic
heritage is perceived as a unity based on an original vision, through the search for
one's own style in the paradigm of national and world heritage.
It is determined that the lyrical hero of his poems appears as a whole talented
personality, which finds expression in the artistic world of the artist, archetypes,
motives, figurative and metaphorical system of poetry of M. Dry-Khmara. The lyrical
hero is characterized by a special reception of the world and surroundings, knowledge
of reality as a space full of beauty and harmony. One of the aspects of the author's
voice in the artist's lyrics is the spiritual model of worldview, from which arises his
understanding and evaluation of reality.
The specifics of the idiostyle of M. Dry-Khmara under the influence of the
realities of the then Soviet society are revealed. The poetic word comprehends the
content of the figurative concept of the social crisis of the first decades of the
twentieth century. The original facets of the master's idiosyncrasy are defined by the
features of modern poetry, attention to the expressive word, full of suggestion and
folk song poetics. M. Dry-Khmara's poems are characterized by sensual depths of
impressionism, changing bizarre watercolor mood of symbolism, formal search for
modernists, listening to the "fanfare of the revolution" and not always successful
search for appropriate tokens and images, the tragedy of modern realities and visions
of future cataclysms.
The use of nonfiction forms of literary heritage in the analysis allowed to find
out the personal accents of the writer on the ideological and cultural situations of that
period, to explore materials about the social era, literary and non-literary conflicts
through the author's assessment, to characterize the critical thinking of the artist. M.
Dry-Khmara's diary entries are an organic part of his general heritage. They introduce
new elements into the presentation of the author's consciousness, features of his
worldview and type of artistic thinking, enrich the space of research in the field of
intergenre diffusion, polysemantics of texts, relationships of literary genres with
related sciences (history, art history, etc.), interpenetration of poetics. journalism and
epistolary.
Literary-critical and epistolary records convey the dynamics of social and
artistic consciousness of the Ukrainian intellectual, they have a great historical,
factual material, professional vicissitudes, relationships.
