Essay

Propagation effects in an ultrarelativistic highly magnetized plasma are investigated in order to analyse the observed characteristics of pulsar radio emission. The qualitative features of the observed pulse width versus frequency dependences are explained. The quantitative description of the polarization transfer in the rotating magnetosphere is given. It is shown that induced scattering at large angles to the initial beam can explain the turnovers in pulsar spectra. The results can be used in pulsar research at RI NASU, MAO NASU, SAI, CrAO.
