Essay

The backscattering of light in a range of phase angles 0.2-3.50 was investigated using the laboratory photometer- polarimeter. Phase dependences of brightness are investigated for the different particles sizes and forms, volume density, samples materials, surface albedo and illumination light wavelenght. Dielectrics shows the dependence of backscattering from particle size. Some samples has nonmonotonic bechavior of color-index with phase angle. The contributions of different mechanisms to backscattering are investigated by the measurements in polarized light with various structures and albedo of the samples. Data were use for interpreting astronomical data.
