Zhak O. Interaction of light rare earth with silver and aluminum (phase diagrams and crystal struct

Thesis is devoted to investigation of interaction between components in the ternary systems Ln-Ag-Al. Isothermal sections of the following systems: La-Ag-Al at 670K, nd-Ag-Al at 770K, {Ce, Pr, Sm}-Ag-Al at 870K have been built.Crystal structures of 3 binary compounds have been studied using an X-ray single crystal method. 32 ternary compounds have been obtained for the first time. Their crystal structures belong to 10 structure types with one new type among them. The maximum similarity of the phase diagrams, composition and crystal structures of the compounds being observed between Ln-Ag-Al and Ln-Cu-Al systems. Сrystallochemical pecularities of the structures of the compounds obtained have been analyzed and comparison of their structures with the other structure types have been made.
