Essay

The detailed characteristics of the clinical picture and epidemiological analysis of 138 patients ill with leptospirosis are presented. Change of the blood neutrophil microbicidal system (alkaline phosphatase, kation proteins, myeloperoxidase), activity of ceruloplasimin and circulating immune complexes in blood serum as well as the state of the intra-hepatic blood circulation have been studied. Significance of the revealed changes in the pathogenesis of the disease have been determined. It is shown that employment of HBO in combination with phenoptin during reconvalescence contributes to shortening of convalescence of patients ill with leptospirosis.
