Essay

A new method to forecast short time series is proposed. The technique is based on integrating spline functions of 2-4 degrees, and is has been used to forecast ground water pollution. Advantages of the technique are confirmed by comparative analysis with Hermite splines. Experiments show that the best estimates are provided by splines of 2nd and 4th degrees.
