Stepanenko L. Functional Stale of pyruvatedehydrogenase system of mitochondria and the Kori cycle in organic dementia of late age.

The dissertation is devoted to the investigation of the functional state of mitochondrial pyruvatedehydrogenase system and the process of hormonal integration glicolise and gluconeogenesis in the Kori cycle, investigated on the patients with different kinds of organic dementia at elderly age (vascular, senile, Alzheimers disease). Correlation between the data of the activity of the given multienzime system and the clinical forms and stages of explication of demencia is stated. Pathophysiological interpretation of the obtained disturbances of the carbohydrates metabolism in the dementia is given. The influence of the medicaments of metabolic action and nimodipin on the state of mitochondrial pyruvatedehydrogenase system and Kori cycle is observed. The metod of vital and differentiating diagnostics of organic dementia at presenile and senile age is suggated. This method is based on the aplication of the pyruvatedehydrogenase, pyruvatemical and pyruvaturical tests on the tolerance of glucose.
