Talala Y. The thesis is dedicated to research of the place of economic heritage of E.Slutsky in the modern theory of demand. The main attention is paid to joining of historical and microeconomic approaches for studding of theoretic elaborations of Ukrainian scientist. The theory of demand evolution is being traced. The differences of approaches of J.Hiks and E.Slutsky regarding division of effects of income and substitution are being indicated, that enabled to introduce the possibility of econometric embodiment of elaborations of the last one. The main directions of development of Ukrainian scientist's ideas in national and western economic science are being indicated.
