Essay

The object of study: periodic sequences of arbitrary number of composite metallodielectric scatterers in free space and in waveguides. The aim of study: eduction of physical features of field interaction with a periodic sequences of arbitrary number of composite metallodielectric scatterers, and determination of novel functional possibilities of control devices on their base. Methods and equipment: matrix method and theory of matrix functions. Theoretical and practical results, novelty: іn the single-mode regime, analytical formulas for scattering and dissipation coefficients, equations for complex eigen frequencies and wave eigenvalues are obtained and the theory of resonance phenomena is developed. The multilayered absorbing coatings of a metal screen, high Q-factor frequency and angular discriminator formed by a sequence of gratings of perfectly electric bars, frequency and mode waveguide iterated filter formed by ring and radial diaphragms are considered in the work. The formulas for the asymptotic reflection coefficients of dissipative systems of arbitrary number of periods and the expressions for their semi-infinite analogs are obtained. The sphere of application: electrical engineering, optics.
