Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the problems of the definition for the concept of metaphor in musicology and consideration of this trope as a factor of artistic activity of musical work. The existing theories of metaphor are systematized, the system nature of the artistic metaphor in the musical work is revealed. Potential of the metaphor artistic activity is connected with the quotation of historical, national or individual styles, genres or themes from other musical works, that is semantically contrasting with context.
