Potapenko A. Stylemetrical Characteristics of Adjectives with Different Morphemic Structurein Modern English

The dissertation deals with the investigation of quantitative characteristics of the adjectival affixes and morphemic chains as well as posit-ional analysis of the investigated morphemes in different functional styles science, fiction and press. The dissertation is carried out within the framework of stylemetry. Frequency and combinability being the main parameters of the investigation. Isomorphic and distinctive peculiarities of the position of the prefixes and suffixes as to the root and affixes are discovered. The attempt is made to build the models of morphemic chains. It is proved that frequency of adjectival affixes and morphemic chains serve to differentiate the functional styles.
