Essay

Patients with diabetes mellitus and cataract. To improve efficacy of cataract surgery in diabetic patients. Methods - ophthalmological, clinical, immunological. Risk factors for severe ocular inflammatory reaction after extracapsular cataract extraction with IOL implantation were determined. Preventive measures permitted to obtain functional results 0,5 and more for another 16,8% of operated patients. The method has been applied in the practice of ophthalmological centers. The range of application is medicine, ophthalmology.
