Object of the research - the Ukraine Ayrshire cattle population. Methods - experimental, statistical, population genetic. Purpose - improvement of the population breeding system. Theoretical and practical results - selection process in the population has been optimized that allowed to intensify selection rate, save and increase competitiveness. Novelty - the breeding system of the Ukraine Ayrshire cattle has been improved using large-scale selection principles and peculiarihes of small population taken into account. Introduced in 3 breeding farms. May be applied to the Ayrshire cattle herds.
