Essay

A problem of high-energy sources of monochromatic radiation with tunable frequency in visible spectral range has been resolved. The regularity of the direction diagram forming for dye laser emission with flashlamp pumping has been established. Spectroscopyc and generation characteristics of new class of dyes were investigated. New effective active media have been created for flashlamp-pumped lasers. High power discharges of microseconds duration in flashlamp has been studied, as sourses of pumping for dye lasers.
