Iovenko V. Population-Genetic Estimation of Breeds, Types, and Lines of Sheep in Connection with Their Origin and Direction of Productivity

Sheep. The purpose - estimation of genetic features of breeds and types of sheep and definition of ways of intensification of selection process. Immunological, immunogenetic, genetic-statistical methods. The scientific concept of integrated usage of polymorphism of factors of the blood groups, proteins and enzymes of blood in the pedigree sheep-breeding has been proposed for the first time. The modern methods of usage of molecular-genetic markers at personal and population levels have been developed and theoretically justified. The developed methods of monitoring of selection processes, evaluation, choice and picking out of sheep have been inserted in the pedigree sheep-breeding farms. Their usage provides increase of efficiency of selection by 8 - 15 %.
