Object of research - ways and means of powder and foam suppression of complex underground fires. The purpose of dissertation - disclosing of features of development of underground fires and development of ways and means of powder, foam and combined suppression of complex underground fires (in view of potential threat of explosions of air-methane mixes). The theory of burning, mathematical physics, mathematical and physical modeling of processes of suppression of fires and localization of explosions of air-methane mixes are used in dissertation. The theoretical results of dissertation are, that for the first time with use of the complex approach, the opportunity of sharp increase of efficiency of mine fire-fighting means is proved. The basesof scientific maintenance of development of new ways and means of suppression of complex underground fires are created. The practical results are: the technology of suppression of the centers of self-heating and localization of possible explosions in goaf is develo ped; the complex of means. The technology of suppression of the centers of self-heating and localization of explosions in goaf was fulfilled during 1985.. 1998гг. on six mines of Lugansk, Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk areas. The ways and means of fire-fighting, including stationary and mobile installations are introduced at the coal enterprises of Ukraine and Russia.
