The dissertation is devoted to problems of theoretical and experimental investigations : factors of loading working organs of the beet-top harvesters under minus temperature and in thaw state; the beet-top cutting apparatus, beet head cleaners of the beet-top harvesters. A new direction in project head-cleaners is developed based on the using of the process scraping. Generalized theory of the interaction the beet-top harvester's working organs with rootcrop was wrought up. It was established, that one-piece disk knives with widely-spaced teeth, having segments with side sharpening are the most effective working organs for the real climatic conditions of the harvesting sugar beet-top and also for milling and vibrating types the beet head-cleaners with copying beetroot heads. The results of the work have found an industrial application in the form of high productive working organs for the beet-top harvesters and root's head-cleaners. 3 inventions and patents were used in serial production of the beet-to p harvesters.
