Essay

Piecewise-homogeneous bodies are examined. An approach to determination and investigation of the stressed-strained state and limit equilibrium of bodies with piecewise-homogene- ous structure based on a method of distortions and the distribution tecmechanics for such bodies taking into account the temperature and residual stresses and structure imperfections under arbitrary contact conditions at interfaces between the parts of the body; formulation of a broad class of direct and inverse mechanics problems important for practice based on the obtained key equations and development of methods for their solving, in particu- lar, by reducing to the corressponding system of integral equations. The thermostressed state of laminated bodies under non-ideal thermal contact at interfaces and that of bodies with inclu- sions, the stressed state of composite shells of revolution caused by thermal, residual and dislocation strains and the presence of through and non-through cracks are investigated. Areas of applica tions - device- and machinebuilding industry.
