Essay

The dissertation is devoted to complex estimation of action of surfactants belonging to various classes on HIV-1 and influenza virus. A new direction in virology based on the complex estimation of detergents myramistin and desintegron-O effects on HIV and influenza virus was developed. Comparison of HIV-modulating and adjuvant characteristics of the saponins (taurosids) and the lipophilic anomeric MDP-derivatives was developed as well. The anti-HIV properties of myramistin and desintegron-O; parameters of desintegron-O-mediated influenza virus destruction and properties of the subvirus products; HIV-modulating and adjuvant properties of the taurosids and the anomeric muramylpeptides were established. The individual AIDS prevention technique based on myramistin use, preparations for diagnostics of an influenza, the method of stimulation of immune response with taurosids, the new principle of creation of adjuvant-active non-HIV-stimulating muramylpeptides were offered. The main results of the work were used for creation of new safe adjuvants and in prevention of HIV-infection.
