Phase and structure transformation in tool materials (steel, alloys, pig iron, deposit metal) were investigated in the course of surface hardening by means of high-concentrated plasma jet and their influence on exploitation properties of the tool materials - hardness, heat stability, fracture toughness. On the basis of different ways of hardening vacancies and substructural dispersion for body-plasmodia treatment influence on the exploitation properties tool materials on the basis metallographical, electron-beam and X-rays structures has been investigated. Method basis for testing surface hardened steels and alloys on the dynamical tough failure has been worked out.
