Essay

The thesis presents investigations related to the processes of firedamp ignition and combustion, as well as flame suppression in mine drainage systems. Explosion propagation in industrial pipelines have been correlated to ignition source power and location; gas mixture motion. Innovative methods have been demonstrated to prevent and suppress firedamp ignitions, explosions in gas pipelines. New devices of explosion protection have been developed and comercialised. The investigation results have found industrial application, are introduced in branch standards, recommendations and guidelines, and in explosion protection project for gas drainage systems. Stand in full scale for testing of devices for methane ignitions prevention in drainage systems has been developed, manufactured and certified.
