One of the list explored pages of Polish - Soviet relations from the beginning of Polish - Soviet war in 1920 tile the end of August, 1938 has been investigated in the thesis. The struggle between Soviet Russia, later USSR, and Poland for possessing parted Ukrainian lands, the role of Ukrainian question in the context of foreign policy of these countries have been clarified and analysed in chronological order. The research has been carried out on the basis of the re-thought over Ukrainian and foreign historiography, new archive materials studies, published documents, periodicals, memoirs.
