Object of research: assertion and development of social and political thought in Ukraine in late 19th century and early 20th century. Aim of research: finding out strategies of social and political development as well as of ethnic mobilization which were brought foward and established in the history of Ukrainian thought at the of centuries. Results and Innovative Potential: critical analysis was carriell out of theoretical and methodological principles of philosophy of national idea which in general is oriented at the collective subject and not at human personality. In was cleated out that Ukrainian national idea is a complex of heterogenuous social and historical as well as political notions and concepts which in the integrity is centered around the values of organic system which can be an ethnic community or a nation: it was cleated out that Ukrainian social and political tradition which developed under the influence of leading ideas of European Enlightment and Romanticism,Rationalism and irrationa l curreuts finally brought about a peculiar network of national ideas which sooner collided than coincided; it was proved that human factor was underestimated as self-sufficient value in the dominant historical and political paradigm which was centered around such values as society nation and statehood; Ukrainian historical and political discourse was for the first time analyzed through the prism of "chronopolitics". Field of Usage: when working out generalized works on both theory and history of Ukrainian social and political thought as well as related subjects i.e. Ukrainian studies, political philosophy, ethnic history and ethnopolitical studies. Materials can be used while working out special courses on political studies, history of political culture of Ukrainian people at university level.
