Essay

The transformation of radiation has been investigated in guided and passive fibre splitters and depolarizers, in short light conduits and biconical junctions, and in tunnel light pipes. A study has been made of the peculiarities of transforming the wave front in fibre-optics light conduits on the basis of non-linear phenomena, i.e. stimulated Brillouin scattering, with the second-harmonic optic generation at the output of multimode fibres. The nature of changing the parameters of nanosecond band optic impulses propagating in fibre-optic light conduits taking into account different orders of non-linear susceptibility tensor is examined. The designs of transducers with holographic field correction, guiding elements and wave front transformation have been suggested based on the study of the specific character and capabilities of fibre-optic interferometers. The trans-ducers possess stable key characteristics due to the suppression of parasitic effects.
