Mirza A. Diagnostics and treatment of pain syndrome caused by the temporal-mandibular joint disfunction

The thesis deals with the problem of improving the effectiveness of diagnostics and treatment given to the patients with pain syndrome (PS) caused by the temporal-mandibular joint disfunction (TMJD); it has been established that PS TMJD is very common among the patients having headache, pains, clicking and crepitation in the TMJ area. Some methods of an early diagnostics in case of PS TMJD have been worked out in the process of scientific research; they, in particular, are: active thermography of the face by nitroglycerine paste, impedansometry of masticatory muscles with a dosed symmetrical elecrostimulating loading; determination of an angle of the joint during vertical movements of the mandible. An expert system for differential diagnostics in case of PS TMJD, traumatic arthritis, TMJ arthrosis has been created; "Sckeme-standard" has been worked out and approved as a basis for diagnosing and treating the patients with PS TMJD; a special complex of methods has been designed for rehabilitation of masticatory muscled on the basis of physiological reciprocation.
