Essay

Investigation objects: high Stokes shift organic luminophores. Purpose: elaboration of principles for designing the high Stokes shift organic luminophores. Methods: absorption and flurescence spectrosopy at stationary and pulse excitation, X-ray structural analysis, vibrational and NMR-spectroscopy, quantum chemical calculations. Structural factors and mechanisms resulting in the appearance of ASS-fluorescence have been estimated. The most favorable for such a class of luminophores designing is the utilization of the excited state confromational changes of non- planar aromatic molecules. Prospects of such organic luminophores application to medical and biological studies have been shown as well. Degree of application: creation of new organic luminophores and fluorescent probes.
