Essay

The dissertation reenterprets the theory of literary process introducing as its basic categories the concepts of "type of literature" and "type of artistic-literary conscience". The paper regards the Russian literary process of the ХІ-ХХ c.с. on a new conceptual basic in the context of the Russian culture development; it suggests a new division of the Russian culture into periods; a characterises types of literature and types of artistic-literary conscience (namely, religious-rhetorical, secular-rhetorical, aesthetic and post-aesthetic ones); certain specific features of the Russian literary process as compared to the European are found.
