Essay

The work is devoted to the research of the physical processes of electromagnetic fields - solid state -interactions that can self-control some unusual laser regimes of operation. The systematical analysis of the solid-state laser behavior was provided. Thermophysical, crystallographic, dispersion and spectroscopy parameters of the gain medium were taken under consideration to find the natural processes, stimulating the laser output intensity self-modulation, self-mode-locking, frequency self-stabilization or achievement of limit laser parameters (pulse duration, power, beam divergence).
