Modern western analytical literature, which is dedicated to the past and present of Ukraine and Russia and has been published within 1991-2001 is the object of scientific research. The methodology and methods of the scientific research: the aggregate of scientific and applied methods of the research work, whcih are based on the achievements of scientific research have been used for realization of all research's tasks. The purpose of the research work is to analyze and estimate the whole complex of analytical publications in the West during last ten years. The scientific newness is determined by the fact that this scientific work is the first monograph research, which studied all the newest western publications on history and present situation in Ukrainian-Russian relations. The scientific approbation: all main theses and conclusions have been presented by the author at theoretical and practical scientific conferences and symposiums. The practical importance: the main theses and conclusions of the scientific research may be used by departments of diplomatic maintenance of Ukraine and Russia, scientific-research organizations, lectures, students.
