Essay

The family of iterative solvers for analysis of large-scale finite element structural mechanics problems (statics and natural vibrations) is developed. These methods, based on preconditioned conjugate gradient method with aggregation multilevel preconditioning, are stable to ill-conditioning. The generalized conjugate gradient method with shifts in aggregation multilevel preconditioning and Ritz-gradient method, which does not require the stiffness matrix factoring, is developed for extraction of natural vibration frequencies and modes. Its implementation in Robot Millennium and SCAD software allows one to reduce the analysis time and increase the accuracy and reliability of results.
