The object is gypsum building materials; aim - development of scientific grounds to obtain gypsum and gypsum-containing building materials of increased strength and water resistance with due consideration of physico-chemical processes; methods - thermodynamic, kinetic, physico-mechanical, physico-chemical analysis, methods for determination of electric surface properties, experimental statistical modeling; theoretical results - thermodynamic analysis and thermal physical modeling of gypsum dihydrate calcination process performed, thermodynamics and kinetics of gypsum semi hydrate hydration reaction studied, ways to increase gypsum building materials; practical results - a technological model developed for gypsum dihydrate thermal treatment in turbulent flow of gaseous heating agent, compositions and technologies prepared of dense and cellular gypsum concretes of increased strength and water resistance; novelty - scientific grounds created for obtaining gypsum and gypsum-containing building materials of increased strength and water resistance with due consideration of physico-chemical processes of their manufacture, hydration and structure formation; pilot plant testing performed of developed cellular materials; field of application - manufacturing plants of gypsum binders and building materials on their basis.
