The work contains the results of a complex clinical / electrophysiological investigation of individuals exposed to ionizing radiation (liquidators of the consequences of the accident at Chernobyl nuclear power plant and residents of contaminated territories) (threshold and over-threshold, tone and speech audiometric studies, investigation of brainstem and cortical hearing evoked potentials, electrocardiography and rheoencephalography), which were used to complement the significance of the leading role of a vascular factor in the development of hearing impairments. The causes of impairments in various parts of hearing analyzer under the influence of ionizing irradiation were studied in more detail. Demonstrated was the significance of the state of cardiac function in the treatment of SNHL of irradiation origin as well as in the prevention of hearing impairments caused by ionizing irradiation. Based on the obtained results developed were the recommendations on the improvement of treatment and prophylaxisof irradiation SNHL with consideration to the state of cardiac function.
