Essay

The basic scientific and practical results of operation: the conditions of occurrence of self-supporting effect of broken grounds in a vicinity of a roadway are determined which are characterized by a simultaneity of displacement of rock-blocks in a radial direction (concerning the center of a roadway) and cramping unit of stresses in a horizontal direction (concerning a contour of a roadway); the reasons of disappearance of self-supporting effect are established which consist in serial displacement of the next rock-blocks in a zone of not elastic deformations; the most probable form of failure of the revealed condition of soils - rock fold is determined; the mechanism of development of a not elastic deformations zone around of a roadway as dilation front is specified, behind which the zone of relative compression is formed; the minimal sizes lateral support of broken grounds (2-5 MPа) are established, at which the value of solid self-supporting effect is maximum; the new principles of preservation ofaroadways stability in a zone of active influence of coal-face works are developed. They are based on maintenance of a simultaneity radial displacement of broken rocks in cross section of a roadway and increase of cramping stresses (with simultaneous leveling the main normal component) in zones of occurrence of self-supporting effect; the new effective ways and technologies of preservation of a roadways stability are developed; the "Іnstruction…" on control of rocks self-supporting effect for application on mines of Ukraine is developed at improvement of reserves in difficult geological conditions.
