Essay

Object: optic neuropathy in patients with diabetis mellitus. Purpose: the effectiveness rising of patient's treatment with diabetic optic neuropathy (DON). Methods: electrophysiological, immunological, ophthalmological, color dopplerogra-phy; Color dopplerograph; "ECO-2", ophthalmoscope. For the first time auto-immune mechanisms have exposed in development of optic nerve injury, which have formed etio-pathogenetic starting mechanism of DON development and also have neuro toxic influence; the interaction of angiogeny in blood and aqueous humor has been finded in case of progressive DON. For the first time it was established too that DON are in two forms : acute and chronic. Superselective introduction "Infuzat" intravenous with "Berlition" preparation are more effective method of such pathology treatment. The treatment of DON by "Berlition" preparation is adopted in Kyiv Central Hospital and Kyiv Endocryonological Hospital; the main scientific provisions are adopted at the educational process of students in Kyiv National Medical University named after O.O.Bogomolets. The effectiveness of DON treatment has been increased. The field of application - medicine, ophthalmology.
